Role
Murphy is New Orleans's projected starting small forward and arguably its best offensive weapon. He led the Pelicans in scoring last season while hitting threes in volume. The offense runs best when he is the focal point on the wing.
How he got here
Memphis drafted Murphy 17th overall in 2021 out of Virginia and traded his rights to New Orleans. He has grown into the Pelicans' top wing.
