Role
Irving is Dallas's projected starting point guard, returning after a torn ACL cost him the entire 2025-26 season. He remains one of the most skilled shot-makers alive, and his partnership with Cooper Flagg is the story of Dallas's season. If he is close to his old self, the Mavericks have a real engine.
How he got here
Cleveland drafted Irving first overall in 2011 out of Duke. He missed all of last season with a torn ACL and returns as Dallas's projected starting point guard for 2026-27.
